Garzigliana
A small village whose name evokes the acacia (gaggìa), which in May envelops the village in a snow-white, fragrant bloom.
The best of Garzigliana
- Montebruno, where history meets legend: along the River Pellice stand the ruins of the 11th-century castle, which, according to legend, is haunted by the ghost of a young Waldensian girl. Here you’ll also find the Gothic Sanctuary of Montebruno, home to an 11th-century Madonna.
- The elegance of the Baroque: the Parish Church (1763) in the main square is a masterpiece designed by the architect Prunotto based on a design by Filippo Juvarra, with a refined exposed-brick façade.
- Industrial archaeology: strolling along the Chiamogna stream, one discovers traces of mills, hemp-beating machines and old icehouses.
