Cumiana
Cumiana
Cumiana had a long tradition of frutasè, and the trade in apples – including exports – was one of the most widespread economic activities.
- The hundred faces of Cumiana: this is an extraordinary area characterised by a mosaic of seventy hamlets stretching from the plain up to the Alpine peaks. Its beating heart lies in the historic centre of La Motta, with the majestic Church of the Nativity of Mary.
- Between the clouds and the plain: from the peaks of Monte Sperino and Monte Freidour, much loved by walkers, the terrain slopes gently down towards the farmsteads on the plain.
- Noble heritage: worth seeing are the ruins of the Ancient Costa Castle (an interesting vantage point) and the Palazzo della Costa dei Conti Canalis, which houses a permanent furniture museum.
