Bibiana
Bibiana is the gateway to the Val Pellice, a vibrant village where the meeting of the plain and the first mountain slopes creates a unique landscape. It is a ‘borderland’ between the Pinerolo area and the province of Cuneo, a place where history has left its elegant mark and nature offers unforgettable colours in every season.
- A village to discover at a leisurely pace: as you stroll through the centre, your gaze is drawn to the 18th-century Piazza San Marcellino, with its stately homes featuring roofs made of Luserna stone. Here, the Church of San Marcellino (1728) stands out, its bell tower topped by a bell cage unique in the region.
- Between history and legend: the Colle di Castelfiore is home to Rorengo di Rorà Castle, an ancient sentinel over the valley. It is said that in 1706, Duke Vittorio Amedeo II found refuge here and, gazing out over the horizon from the Colle di San Bernardo, made the vow that led to the construction of the Basilica of Superga.
- Architectural curiosities: along the old road to Cavour stands the Torre Rossa (1857), a 20-metre-high astronomical observatory with an internal spiral staircase and panoramic views.
